This one made us think of Pierre Chareau the moment we saw it. An Art Deco armchair, circa 1930, with a stained wood frame and armrests sculpted in faceted planes.

It has the kind of detail that takes time to notice, and then you can't unsee it. The front legs are turned in a spool form, the rear legs splay slightly.

Reupholstered in powder blue mohair with matching leather piping, finished by hand in Belgium. It sits exactly as well as it looks.

One of the earliest Akari lamps to leave the workshops of Gifu. This sphere of 55 centimeters is one of the purest forms in Noguchi's light sculptures.

Red sun and half-moon ideogram stamp (when you know, you know). So here you have it: a first edition piece, made by Ozeki & Co. between 1954 and 1964. Handmade from washi paper, drawn from mulberry bark, and stretched over a bamboo frame.

Noguchi conceived the Akari series in 1951 after visiting Gifu, where paper lanterns and umbrellas had been made by hand for centuries. He borrowed the technique and made it his own. Noguchi compared the glow of his lamps to the transience of cherry blossoms or falling leaves - and we love this thought.

Slightly decorated, yet simple Art Deco gaming table, designed by André Léon Arbus for a private residence in Toulouse.

Made from mahogany and mahogany veneer, this game table has a foldable tabletop. When opened, there is an edge in mahogany and a top inlay finished with green felt. The edge has a Greek key pattern (frise à grecques), also called a meander, probably in gold leaf. The hinges are in brass. Comes with full provenance, including the original purchase invoice.

André Leon Arbus was a French architect-decorator and furniture designer who shaped a refined, classically inflected Art Deco style. Working at the same elite level as Louis Sognot, René Drouet, Maison Dominique, and Jean-Michel Frank, he was a central figure in the 1930s Paris design scene.

By the time he reached his early thirties, he was already recognized as a key figure championing French craftsmanship and a renewed appreciation for tradition. Critics such as Waldemar George praised him for embodying the continuity and coherence of 17th-century design, which they viewed as essential for the future of modern furniture. After 1946, he was appointed one of the designers working for the Mobilier National, contributing to an extensive effort led by Georges Fontaine to refurnish government ministries and state residences.

French Art Deco sofa set composed of one three-seater and two single armchairs, with rounded armrests and a low, enveloping silhouette. The backs are slightly more decorative than similar period examples, bringing to mind the work of Frances Elkins.

Reupholstered in an off-white cotton chenille blended with alpaca, a fabric that will develop a soft and elegant patina over time. The original frames have been carefully preserved; the internal springs were restored, and the original down filling was supplemented with new down to regain volume and comfort.

The set is unsigned. While the overall lines are close to pieces by Louis Sognot or René Drouet from the early 1930s, the more expressive back suggests a different maker, and a precise attribution cannot be confirmed.

Stool or poof designed by George Nakashima for Widdicomb Furniture Company in the late 1950s. Produced in the United States circa 1958. Dating from the period following the Widdicomb - Mueller merger, when the company worked with outside designers (such as George Nakashima), to develop modern furniture for production. Nakashima’s contributions to Widdicomb represent a distinct phase of his practice, adapting principles from his studio work to standardized models intended for broader distribution.

Walnut base with a re-upholstered seat in French mohair and leather piping. Marked “George Nakashima” signature on the underside with client’s name. It is documented in the Widdicomb manufacturer’s catalog (page 17).

You might already know that we are kind of obsessed with archetypes. When it comes to chairs, this might be the most accurate example. Designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens, this chair could have been drawn by a young child, and we mean that as a compliment. Erased almost anything non-functional, stripped back to the bare minimum. The only decorative element on the chair would be the back supports.

This Robert Mallet-Stevens chair is a tubular-steel design from the late 1920s, created for his modernist architectural interiors. The early chairs were usually produced specifically for a certain project. It has a linear frame and the ornamentation is functional. It shows a transition between Art Deco and European modernism.

The patina on this set is just to die for. Each colour tells a story of another mood, season or colour trend, from the 1930s till now. Produced by Tubor.
