Rietveld drew the Utrecht chair in 1936 for the Metz & Co warehouse in Amsterdam. Cassina picked up the rights in 1972 and relaunched it in 1988. This pair dates from the early 2000s.
We had ours reupholstered in powder blue mohair, finished by hand in Belgium. It gives the chairs character and a very good reason to own them in pairs because: one’s company and two’s a party.
