Pair of Pierre Jeanneret Armless Easy ‘Fireside’ Chairs, Model PJ-SI-18-A
Created for Chandigarh during the city’s foundational years. Designed between 1955 and 1960, the chairs were originally supplied to both private residences and institutional buildings, including the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI).
Bleached (or “blond”) teak frames, a lighter and rarer finish. The seats are newly upholstered in antelope hide.
Both chairs carry the original stenciled markings PGI/W/29 and PGI/W/32, identifying them as inventory from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI)
