Teak Armchair by Pierre Jeanneret - model PJ-SI-49-A.
This armchair in solid teak is a variation of Pierre Jeanneret’s auditorium chair. Their double “X” base extends upward to form the armrests. The chairs are reupholstered in burgundy red leather, a “Corbusier red” that gives the pair the original look, which was intended back in the 1960s by Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier. The back is tilted and slightly curved. Price per piece.
Provenance: Panjab University, the original markings “PAU / Science Lab / S.C. / 201 II” and “219 II” are visible on the back of the chairs, and “PAU D.O.P. 19/7/61” on the side.
