This set of PJ‑SI‑48‑A chairs by Pierre Jeanneret has been reupholstered in Belgium with off-white cowhide, keeping the original spirals and teak construction. The wood has been fully restored using the original 1950s methods and finished with a satin coating, maintaining its authentic character.
Both the chairs have a signature MLA(H)PB/R.no 34 (I & II), linking it to the Chandigarh MLA Hostel room 34, in Sector 1, from the city’s early years. The set comes with original export documents and government auction purchase proof (dated in 2003), and prior-to-restoration photographs are available to show the care taken in preserving these pieces.
